Freedom for Morvalonga

Morvalonga Navy and Marines

The Fast Patrol Boats "Assegai" and "Knobkerrie" provide frequent anti pirate patrols when they are not being polished. Admiral Qrman Mirhandi is somewhat miffed that the Bishop requested Royal Navy assistance despite his fast patrol boats. Each is commanded by one of his sons, of course no favouritism here.  Definitely not.  The boats are modified Dinky toys and armed with a 20mm Oerlikon forward and a 50 cal aft. They also ship at least 2 x GPMG. There is an assigned combat swimmer team. The boats are converted from Dinky missile boats.  The figures are unknown, I picked them up cheaply at a show.

The Bishop just loves gadgets and has invested his considerable powers of persuasion on the USA who have equipped his Marines.   Rumours that he has photographs of a "high ranking" in a compromising situation are unfounded. the Bishop maintains.  He just would not resort to that sort of thing.  Oh no he would not.

The Americans kindly donated a hovercraft, LVTP-7s, weapons and a training team for the Marines just after the visit by the all female youth choir and dancers to Washington DC.  The Secretary for the Armed Forces was very impressed by the girls' performance that the equipment arrived very quickly indeed.

First a home made from a balsa hull, putty and card Hovercraft.  It is armed with two 50 cal HMG in the cupolas and 2 GPMG in the side windows.

My two LVTP-7s were made many years ago for a Falklands game using bits from Airfix Leopards, plastic card, balsa and odd stuff from the spares box.  The figures are old ESCI Americans and I need to get some more to increase the units to full strength.
