Larete Balokha

You are Maestro Guiseppe Ruffiani, an Organizzatore of the Larete Balokha Free Trading organisation. Recently the retainers of the Grand Duchess Maudette destroyed one of your smuggling routes at Claux and she has talked of damaging your markets in Limura. Her appointed Constable at her capital of Charles Sir Richard Nogent is a notorious enemy of Free Traders so you wish to strike against her. She has decided to marry Doze Handor an Oblivian Lord. However your organisation has discovered the dead body of her messenger with her message in the Oblivian jungle. Your agents have discovered that Maudette is trying to hire ships to ferry a detachment over the river Arwyn to seek out Doze Handor. You have collected some feluccas and a dwarf cog hidden ready to oppose the sailing of this force. Your agents can report from which of the four Baratrean ports they are going to use. Seeking to beef up your sailor type followers you have asked for the support of Sir Terence Lambert. Following the execution of his brother Sir Christopher, he and his family have been in revolt against Maudette. With some Eruvian church fanatics they fought a battle with her at Rues in Thentis. He is supplying some foot soldiers but he also has a mounted squad. He wishes you to ferry their mounts over the river to Stetia on the other side. The idea is that after you have wiped out Maudette’s detachment on the river, he will lead the mounted squad to Oblivia. There he hopes to find and kill Doze Handor before he can come to Maudette.

   You with the Feluccas Algytha and Avice take Squire Gilbert Lambert and his foot soldiers down the River Edorune to the Arwyn. Then whilst you are ferrying Sir Terence’s mounted squad across you obtain good news from an associate Roget Harcouer. He has recruited the assistance of a Perigordan knight travelling downriver on the Lymphad St Brigid. He, Sir John Chernuy is taking a priest, money and books for the Church of Eru in Faralon. He hates Maudette for the damage she is doing to the church of Eru. His ship and men are ready to fight to destroy Maudette’s detachment as they try to cross the river. Roget tells you that they will be attempting this in the Faraese Urca Sir Richard. This with another called the Lady Abigail have called at the closest port Firmaz and Maudette’s agent has taken its commander to Maudette at the city of Charles.

   So your fleet comprises the Lymphad St. Brigid, the dwarf Cog Peronelle, the Feluccas Algytha, Avice and Anne and the Yawls Ann, Cilla and Mano. Captain Swartze of the Peronelle, had recently been captured by a Don Incio, who accused him of being a pirate! Don Incio had been in an Urca flying the Baratrean flag. Swartze a member of your Free Trading organisation also is looking for revenge.  

You position the Feluccas Avice and Anne downstream from Crujirmaz because they have been accused of smuggling by the Baratrean authorities. If they go too close to Firmaz some missiles might come your way.
