Gryll’s Regalian Elves

You are Commander Gryll of the Regalian Elves. Your much-reduced force fought in the great battle near Talarth where the Regalian army was almost completely destroyed. Prince Imvain was killed and his brother Prince Violent badly wounded. The remnant of their army withdrew whilst the battle continued into a second day. At the end of it, Prince Violent heir to the throne after Imvain, died of his wounds! You realised that the next heir was Princess Voluptia, left back in Chogard. You set off with your force to give her the tidings. Alas she had already heard them and set out to return to Regalia down the Undomeel River. She went in a single hanoe with but three warriors escort, so you feared for her safety. In Chogard you heard that the Lawic Host had been destroyed and Chaotics forces were threatening everywhere! So you set out with three hanoes to catch up and escort Voluptia safely back to Regalis.

Dolit the Amelian Elf Recorder told you that dwarves had attacked an elf hanoe and taken prisoner a large elfess whom you believe to be HRH Princess Voluptia. Landing short of the east quay your force went inland despite a demon’s noisy intervention. However Phern and all his squad were eaten by wolves in a fir wood. With the urgency of your mission you saw no point in engaging these wolves. Proceeding onwards down the track it veered to meet Pansi’s squad. She reported that there was a dwarf trail leading eastwards through a small wood beside a crag. There was no flag or any sign of movement from Tegliff’s Tower. I sent my Kestrel up to scout eastwards and he reported Some small bipeds. One big female gone there! I told him There stand! Ours come! So our two squads marched onwards. Beyond the wood we glimpsed the enemy just as they entered a much larger wood. Only around half a dozen I thought. Even without Phern’s squad we should be able to deal with them!

Then you saw your kestrel jerk up and then fall down! Shot by the dwarves no doubt!
