Daigost and Zid

From your vantage point you saw a conflict between two cogs and a hanoe on the river which was rather puzzling. Zid tried to scare some cattle towards Houlers pack but they just collapsed with fright and Aargil’s pack had a meal from them. Zid then tried to scare scared both the hanoe and the cogs from the landing stage tower. It succeeded in that two elves were frightened into swimming ashore. As the approached their wood Houler’s pack got them. Six Dwarves from the cogs brought an elf woman prisoner ashore who they ran down the track. With his wolves disorganised Daigost felt unable to attack them with only Whailoo’s pack. However soon three more hanoes of elves came to be beached beside the landing. Zid went to scare the first without much success as Daigost massed the wolves in Houler’s wood. The elves advanced in three parties with the centre one heading straight into the wood. Zid tried his scarer against the right hand squad and succeeded in halting them for a few minutes. They could only proceed by carrying a prostrated member of their patrol. In the wood the wolves wiped out their opponents by weight of numbers. The remaining two elf patrol re-united and headed eastwards following the dwarves. “Likely they will fight and we may be able to do more damage.” Thought Daigost. “But, these wolves want only to stay and eat for a day. However I have other packs we may use. Let us go to the crag and pick up a stone apiece in the hope of dropping them on someone!”

 “But first Commander Daigost let me see those boats. The training of Balyell decrees that one should never omit to play a trick against the enemy. Those boats are unguarded and I feel it my duty to send them floating downstream!”

 “Very well. I expect it will be some time before the elves catch the dwarves!”

 So Zid went and pushed the three hanoes off into the river. He did the same to a rowing boat lying beside the landing stage. Then he returned to the crag top to collect his hand stone. “See that tall crag over there Zid. It will be best if you move there through the flaches and I will join you by more normal movement. I have Fidah’ pack of wolves there. Not far away are Oools as well. From the top we will see what can be achieved for the cause.” So Daigost flew off, taking care not to get too close to the elves. Zid travelled through the flaches successfully to arrive at the crag top. Hardly had he arrived however when another demon materialised beside him.

 “I am Springah. His Eminence the Horrub has sent me here to assist you in your war on the Lawics.” It croaked.
