Fall of Britannia

The Generic Collection

In this period of history virtually all peple dressed similarly and so I have chosen to make some troops that can be used by almost all armies.  Mostly these are the civilians and levy troops.

The javelin armed light troops were common to both the Britons and the Saxons.  Many were youths, others were men looking for the loot that accompanies victory and some who were looking to prove themselves in battle and be taken on by a lord as a warrior.

Though not common, bow armed troops drawn from hunters and woodsmen made up a small part of some of the armies.  Using bows was regarded as being somewhat dishonourable by warriors.

The sling was the most common of the missile weapons as it was used by the common folk for hunting and driving off predators from their flocks.

The clergy and priests are well represented with a fair smattering of figures to represent purely fictional (at this period) religions of druids, flagellants, a "giant" and other pagans.  Is Merlin in there too?

Some female characters - it may be that Guinevere is among them.
